How
do I set up my e-mail to be read over the internet?
These
instructions will provide you with the necessary steps to
manage your e-mail over the Internet, using Valley TechNologies
e-mail servers (ref. version W). Please do this before
you set up your local e-mail client (like Microsoft Outlook
or Outlook Express)! Links to the instructions for setting
up your local client are found at the end of this instruction.
If you need assistance with any of these instructions, please
contact us.

NOTICE >>>
Please
note that Valley Technologies e-mail services support POP3
type service only. Although IMAP setup is available,
use is at your own risk due to the multiple services that
would be used to access those accounts, such as cell phones,
iPads, and many other devices that could have an effect on
the stability and credibility of the data stored there.
================
1.
Managing your e-mail account
You
can manage your e-mail account either by logging in at login.valley-technologies.com
or click on the "Customer Login" link on the Valley TechNologies
menu bar at the top of this page. Enter your full e-mail
address and password as supplied by your e-mail administrator.
Remember that passwords are case sensitive!

Above
is the approximate look of the the Control
Panel screen that will give you the option
of managing your password, auto-responders, mail lists, and
accessing your web-mail account. When
you login, replace "myname@mysite.com" and password
with your own full e-mail address and password.

Remember
that if you change your password here (under the "Preferences"
link), you will also need to adjust it in your e-mail client
(see the bottom of this instruction for information on managing
your account on your Outlook or Outlook Express e-mail client).
As
you mouse over the incons, you will see a basic help line
about the feature at the bottom of the left column. Each feature
also has a full on-line tutorial for its use.
The
first thing you should do is CHANGE
YOUR PASSWORD!!! Do this under the "Preferences"
icon. Note that if you are also using either
Outlook or Outlook Express (or another e-mail client) you
will also need to change your password there to match the
change you make to your password here.
-
Your
password is case sensitive, so if you use caps, you will
need to use them when you enter your password.
-
Your
password should be 5-16 characters in length (no spaces
or special characters), ideally a mix of upper case, lower
case, and numbers.
FOR
SECURITY PURPOSES, MAKE SURE TO LOGOFF AFTER YOU ARE FINISHED!
2.
Accessing your account over the web (webmail)
You
can also access your e-mail over the web by logging directly
into your Horde webmail account.
** PLEASE NOTE - HORDE IS NOT INTENDED FOR PERMANANT STORAGE
OF EMAIL ADDRESSES OR MESSAGES**
It is a temporary access site for emails when you are
out of town. Please remember to load email to a local program
such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird.
- Enter
webmail.mysite.com in your web browser, replacing "mysite.com"
with your actual domain name. DO NOT INCLUDE "http://"
or "www." prior to the "webmail" prefix. Example:

-
Enter
your complete e-mail address and the password supplied
by your e-mail administrator.
- IF
YOU
HAVE NOT
YET RECEIVED
THIS INFORMATION,
please e-mail
us from an alternative e-mail if you have one, requesting
this information. If you do not
have an alternative e-mail address,
please call our office at 262.673.1979.
- click
"Log in". Note that after your first login,
you will only have to supply your account name, and
not the "@mysite.com".
